you need to provide more information:
is it the first time you are taking backup of the mentioned VM?
are you able to take backup of any other VM on the same ESXi host?
is it a full backup?
What is your VMware tab configuration in your backup policy?
you can enable the logging on your backup host as well to find out more about the error.
