Are you interested in participating in the upcoming Backup Exec 21 Beta Program?
Registration is now open for Veritas Backup Exec customers. All applications will be screened for US legal compliance a week or two before the Beta program start date, planned for the second week of February 2020.
The Beta Program for the upcoming release of Backup Exec contains some new features including:
Item | Description |
---|---|
Enhancements to Remote Administration Console | Remote Administration Console users can connect to the Backup Exec server using the logged-on user's credentials as default authentication. This authentication can also be used by Multi-Factor Authenticated smart card users. Users now have the ability to allow client connections over Kerberos only. |
Enhanced Backup Exec deduplication engine | Backup Exec users get an updated deduplication engine that uses stronger hash algorithms while backing up to the Backup Exec deduplication folder. |
Enhancements to Ransomware Resilience | As part of continued enhancements in the disk storage lockdown feature, Backup Exec does not allow other non-Backup Exec processes to modify backup data via external code execution. |
Enhanced licensing experience | Backup Exec users get an enhanced licensing experience. Connection with Veritas Entitlement Management System will be authenticated and updated licenses will be downloaded automatically. Backup Exec will also automatically synchronize licenses when renewed licenses are available. |
