Opportunities in eDiscovery with Veritas

Today, we are surrounded by data. With the increase of data-generating devices, sensors, and software, the amount of data stored by organizations is growing exponentially. We all use connected, integrated devices extensively, texting messages, uploading documents, and updating social platforms. Each of these operations results in increased volume of electronically stored information (ESI). One estimate suggests each day we create over 2.5 quintillion bytes of data—and over 90% of the world’s current electronic data was created in just the last two years alone (Forbes).

ESI in the enterprise often invites increased risk due to regulatory compliance standards in data management and protection, and as a result, the value of effective, efficient eDiscovery tools is clear.

eDiscovery at Veritas
Veritas provides a remarkably effective platform for managing the entire end-to-end eDiscovery lifecycle, acquiring, analyzing, and representing ESI from several information sources within an enterprise. The Veritas eDiscovery Platform provides powerful abilities to execute various workflows at each stage of eDiscovery—from identification and collection, to processing and analysis, and review and production—drastically reducing the review cost and time and delivering defensible results.

The future of eDiscovery
There is a need for an eDiscovery tool that can assess what is written explicitly, and potentially even understand what is “between the lines.” With artificial intelligence and predictive analysis, there is tremendous scope for innovations in traditional eDiscovery tools.

Soon, we may be seeing tools with the capability to discover ESI based on human biases, sentiments, and heuristics. And I am proud to be part of the eDiscovery team at Veritas that continuously works to improve the eDiscovery experience.

Any forward-looking indication of plans for products is preliminary and all future release dates are tentative and are subject to change. Any future release of the product or planned modifications to product capability, functionality, or feature are subject to ongoing evaluation by Veritas, and may not be implemented and should not be considered firm commitments by Veritas and should not be relied upon in making decisions.
