In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month in the United States, I had an opportunity to learn more what this month means to our HOLA (Hispanic Outreach Leadership Affinity) members. HOLA is an employee resource group that supports Veritas’s commitment to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace. Read below to see what Hispanic heritage month means to some of our members:

Alfredo Sabatino | Appliance Service Delivery Manager, Strategic Accounts

To me, Hispanic Heritage month it is a celebration of our culture, a reminder of our ability to fit in anywhere we go and a difference. I am very thankful for being part of the Veritas Team and for all the opportunities created to help us succeed.

Daniel Flores | Enterprise Renewals Account Manager

Hispanic Heritage Month is a time to reflect on the contributions we have made to society over the years. People like Roberto Clemente and Rita Moreno to Lin-Manuel Miranda and Sonia Sotomayor are just a few of the individuals who have made a significant impact on our culture. More importantly, Hispanic Heritage Month is an opportunity for my children to learn more about these strong figures and further explore their diverse heritage.

Luis Mora | Technical Support Engineer

The Hispanic Month is significant to me because it is an opportunity to recognize the contributions and influence of Hispanic Americans to the history, culture, and achievements of the United States.

Lupe Gomez | Senior Payroll Analyst

Hispanic Heritage Month to me is a time to recognize and champion Hispanic Americans who have had a positive influence on America through their strong commitment to hard work and service. With our centuries-old traditions, that reflect the many multiethnic and multicultural customs, we identify ourselves as Mexican, Mexican American, Chicano, Puerto Rican, Cuban, Hispanic, Latino or Spanish. On a personal note, I know we all recognize and love the delicious cuisine enjoyed at a favorite Spanish restaurant. Some people may think all Spanish food is the same, but it is not, you will find there is a big difference in taste. So next time try something new, and don’t forget to enjoy the Mariachi music next time you visit a Spanish restaurant.

Sandra Rodriguez | Senior Remote Product Specialist, Business Critical Services

Hispanic Heritage Month is a time to reflect on the heritage, histories, cultures, and contribution of all the Spanish speaking citizen in USA. For me, it’s a way to honor our cultural richness and diversity. I'm a native, proud Puerto Rican, born and raised in the Island. Proud of all the talent that has come out our Island, Justice Sonia Sotomayor, Joseph M. Acaba (Astronaut), Roberto Clemente, Marc Anthony, Ricky Martin, 5 Miss Universe, Rita Moreno, just to mentioned a few.

Carmen Rivera | Customer Success Manager, Renewals

Working for an organization that supports diversity allowed for me to share my Hispanic heritage allowing for others to learn more about my country.

Ivette Reyes (Need Photo from Pride month) | Release Readiness & Supportability Manager, Veritas Support Solutions

To me, Hispanic Heritage month means celebrating all the Latino’s outside of their countries and recognizing all the contributions we make around the world! I am grateful to work for Veritas, a company that allows me to be a full expression of myself as a Latina. “Your great strength is knowing who you are.” – Oscar de la Renta
