Announcing the release of version 3.4 of the Symantec Operations Readiness Tools (SORT)

Version 3.4 of the Symantec Operations Readiness Tools (SORT) has been released. This release keeps pace with the latest NetBackup releases and also adds important new functionality as listed below. 

General

• Support for the NetBackup 7.1.0.2 maintenance release in the installation and upgrade checklist and custom reports

Note: NetBackup 7.1.0.2 will not visible until after NBU 7.1.0.2 has reached GA (Scheduled for early September)

• Incorporate updates from changes to all NetBackup compatibility lists (Operating System and associated features, Hardware, Database and Application Agent, Cluster, Snapshot Client, additional Operational Notes, Release Notes, etc.)

NetBackup Landing Page

• Addition of a hot fix and eeb release auditor widget (adds the ability to determine if installed hot fixes and/or EEB's are addressed in a users desired target version of NetBackup)

Installation and Upgrade Custom Report

• New hot fix and eeb release auditor check (adds the ability to determine if installed hot fixes and/or EEB's are addressed in a users desired target version of NetBackup)
• New check item which reports the current host role (Master, Media Server, Client) if NetBackup is installed
• Enhance check items to better report if a particular feature has been qualified via a footnote in the Software Compatability List (SCL)
• Enhance port checks to more accurately report status if products are installed (NBU and Private Branch Exchange)

• Addition of OpsCenter and OpsCenter Analytics products to the SORT Installation and Upgrade Checklist
