EV.cloud with Office 365, how it works in the background from technical view ?
Hello All, I read the EV.cloud product documentation, but some things are not clear for me. For my understanding EV.cloud has no direct access to Office 365, and just work with the functionality of a journaling mailbox at Symantec. But how work the mailbox archiving from technical view ? The mailbox content archiving must by run via the journaling mailbox, but what about the user mailbox handling in O365 ? With EV "non cloud" the Users get mailbox content shortcuts to the archive, and the original Mail did not reside into the original mailbox because it was archived. But how is it in EV.cloud from User perspective ? Is the content in O365 also archived, and if yes how does this work technical without direct access to the Office 365 cloud ? Or is ev.cloud just a "mail duplication" feature which could be accesed via outlook plugin or something like that ? I could not find these information or deeper technical information via the symantec website, does anybody have more information which could satifie my questions ? Thanks ! I am researching an email archiving system for my company. Our reseller recommends EV. I agree that EV is a great enterprise level product but feel it might be too high end for our medium sized company. I am hesitant to deploy it due to the complexity as well as the high system requirements. We would end up with more EV servers than we have Exchange servers, which just seems crazy to me. We only have 2 on premise Exchange servers with less than 400 mailboxes and our total amount of email including journaled archives is around 12 TB. With that being said, I aminterested in EV.cloud especially since it saysno required hardware, software or client plug-ins are needed. However, in checking, there is very little information on EV.cloud. There have only been 29 threads created in a 2 year period with one of them asking how to move away from it.The consulting companies don't seem to have the experience or knowledge that they have with the on premise version. Is the product any good? I know Symantec's marketing makes it out to be a great product but would really like to hear ofreal world customer experience. Is there any 3rd party tool that can export EV.cloud to PST ? 4. Is there any tool to import EV.cloud to office 365 archive mailboxes ?SolvedEV.cloud API/SDK support?
We currently have a EV 11.x environment and have utilized the API/SDK guides from Veritas (Symantec) for allowing a in house application to be able to search against the EV index/vault and return data. All is well and working. We are not considering a migration to EV.cloud and cannot seem to find any information regarding a API and or SDK for EV.cloud solutions. Does Veritas have a API and or SDK of any sort for EV.cloud? We have a Microsoft SharePoint farm that has a search tool we use to currently can search against the EV on premise data and are looking to do the same with the EV.cloud solution. Thanks in advance.Solved3.4KViews0likes1CommentEnterprise Vault.Cloud Licensing

I'm trying to setup Vault.Cloud on Exchange 2010 with Outlook 2010 clients. I have created a journaling contact and also an SMTP Send Connector. I then activated Journaling on our exchange server mailbox database. I'm unsure of what to do next. Should our Outlook 2010 clients see a .cloud folder or do I have to do something else? Any help would be appreciated. Thank youSolveddotnetdanny11 years agoLevel 32.7KViews0likes7Comments
