Next release of NBU ITA?
Greetings, I've noticed that it's pretty quiet here these days. I see that the quarterly Oracle update is out there and I was wondering when the next patch for NBUITA is going to be released? 11.5.06 maybe? I am learning about SQL Queries and how to speak more SQL, but I'm retiring next year after 40+ years in I.T. Support / Systems Engineering work to include 35 years of "oncall" duty. I've been trying to stir interest in NBU ITA and to find ways to make it better for all us "end-users" but I'm slowly learning that there's not a lot of people interested in it. Maybe the Cohesity piece of this will give a better reporting tool? I don't know really, but I can hope can't I? :-) Best of weeks to you all..!DPeaco16 days agoModerator31Views0likes2CommentsSwitch from http port 80 to https ssl for portal and collectors
Has anyone made the switch from http port 80 to https ssl for the portal and the collectors? We have successfully enabled 443 HTTPS for our portal server but the collectors are still using port 80. Does anyone have the steps for getting the collectors to communicator over 443 only? I have ticked the box in the collector properties but collection start to fail right away... Any insight or advices is much appreciated.NBU4Life2 months agoLevel 346Views0likes4CommentsLet's Talk About NBU ITA
Greetings to each of you! Hope your holiday was good and relaxing. Let's talk about NBU IT Analytics. Many of us were fairly accustomed to using the previous product - NetBackup Ops Center. Veritas was on the "right track" for a Reporting Tool/GUI that was fairly "Backup Admin" friendly. Now that Veritas bought Aptare and have tweaked it and called it NetBackup IT Analytics...that doesn't mean that the method for getting reports done by a Backup Admin are any easier. In fact, it's more difficult to get reports out of this reporting tool unless you are a Database Administrator that is intimate with SQL Query language. Since most of the Backup Admins that I know, are not SQL Query experts...or even beginners and we all struggle to get info out of NBUITA that is meaningful for our company leaders to see, read, and understand. With all that said.....If you were on the board to recommend changes/enhancements to NBUITA, what would those be? Yes, I'm trying to stir up chat and interest in the NBU ITA world. :-) Thanks, Dennis - Looking forward to your comments.DPeaco2 months agoModerator66Views2likes4CommentsNBU ITA - Automation Question around server decom for backup clients
Greetings, I was pondering the idea of: You know, it would be really nice if I could script something that would decom a host that we get a decom ticket for and also remove the assigned system administrator from the Host Groups section for the newly decom'd client server/host. Let's say I get a ticket to decom server - hotrod1 I would run the final full backup for "hotrod1" in NetBackup, then log onto NBUITA, search for "hotrod1", edit it's assigned host groups so I can remove the system admin from that list, and then hit the "decommission" button and move along to the next ticket. Is there a way to script/automate the work being done in NBUITA for this task? Thanks, DennisDPeaco3 months agoModerator41Views0likes3CommentsQuery Time Exceeded

Greetings, Is there a report for backup clients that show/reports on increased backup size within the past 72 hours? Asking because leadership wants to know which clients are "growing data" causing storage consumption and backup sizes to climb. Maybe a data amount of current and past and then show the percent changed since previous? Any help here would be appreciated.DPeaco5 months agoModerator80Views0likes5CommentsGet something off one’s chest
I think we need urgent :) more ADMINs NETBACKUP using NETBACKUP IT ANALYTICS. Some kind of that reports we can help each other, I remember when I need some report equivalent in OPSCenter about growth data like a post DPeaco , with one simply search in this forum I find and that's works until today. NETBACKUP IT ANALYTICS is "good tool", but a lot of complex! Support doesn't help us for custom reports, alright I understood something like that because depends of what report do you want is very very specific, but let's be far about side admin backup? I waste a lot of my time for create one report in NEW DYNAMIC TEMPLATE, I supposed that's option was to be simply for create a report? Bad mistake, I learned some fields you put on this report make your report get in blank...how is that possible? Is Like a conflict between some fields? So WHY can I able to add this field? That's not make sense... The bad thing is when you waste time for create a report in DYNAMIC TEMPLATE and check works fine from 90% about your environment and what about 10%? Do another template or check field by field for try to find where is your "conflict" ... again that's not make sense...admin_bkp0076 months agoLevel 5115Views0likes7CommentsTroubleshooting NBUITA Probes
