Netbackup 10.5 storage unit for Duplication jobs
Hello Netbackup 10.5 windows environment. We are in the process of starting to duplicate our LTO6 (Quantum i-500) media tapes with infinity expirations to our new Quantum LTO9 tape library (quantum i-6). The LtO9 library has 6 tape drives. Is it possible to have one or two of the 6 tape drives in our LTO9 library designated as the drive(s) for the duplication jobs? Another words if im running a duplication job that is duplicating lets say "Archival-1 Policy" backupIds and then I have a new request to backup up recent data to the same policy - Archival-1. Will the new backup request job wait in limbo until the duplication job completes or will it grab another tape and starting backing it up to another tape. I would prefer it grab another tape. Im wondering if I can segregate a tape drive or 2 just for duplication jobs? Can I copy the LTO9 storage unit and name it something else to use it for duplication but how can it be broken down by tape drive. Not sure if this is possible. If my write up is confusing I will try to fix. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks BCbc14104 days agoLevel 636Views0likes4CommentsVMWARE restore without access to vCenter/ESXi
Hi all, I'm using NetBackup and I'm implementing a Disaster Recovery solution, where source data are OnPrem VMWARE machines and target site is on Cloud. NetBackup is used to backup data OnPrem and to replicate data to a BLOB storage on Azure. Cloud recovery environment is based on VMWARE too, but we don't have access to vCenter or ESXi servers (due to security policies, as this is a multi-tenant environment). We can only put the .VMDK/.VMX files on a shared folder, then the Cloud provider will import them to the VMWARE infrastructure. My question is: can I restore .VMDK and .VMX files to a "generic" disk space (BLOB, shared folder, local disk... whatever/wherever) WITHOUT any access to VMWARE/vCenter/ESXi? I'm a bit confused, because from the documentation I've read, it seems that you can restore the VMDK/VMX files to an alternate path, but you need to have access to a VMWARE environment in order to proceed. Any suggestions?paolocorsini7 days agoLevel 252Views0likes3Commentsexpired images not being deleted

Hi All, I am using bplist to list SQL cluster backup images: bplist -C sql_cluster_name -l -R -t 15 / The bplist works fine on the primary server but it returns "227: no entity was found" on the cluster node. What must be done to make the bplist working properly when run on the cluster node? Thank you, LubosSolvedLubosDvorak17 days agoLevel 454Views0likes5CommentsOracle credential verification failed . NBU10.4.0.1
Hello, does anyone know the log file, or files, i can check to investigate the credential validation in NBU? I need to register a single instance database, i can see it and i can backup it with a standard policy but when i try to add a credential it fails (wrong user/pass). The credentials are valid, tested with sqlplus and Toad. I can also reach the db on port 1521 (listener).
