Replacement options for Backup Exec.cloud
Now that Symantec has announced that Backup Exec.cloud has only one year left to live, I was wondering what the residents of this forum plan to do to replace it? Starting in January I plan to search for a similar type of product - one that can back-up locally, as well as to the cloud. If anyone has any suggestions as to the appropriate product and hardware, I'd appreciate knowing about it. Thanks! LarrySolved2.6KViews0likes6CommentsBackup Exec 2010 R2 to R3 upgrade
My BU exec 2010 R2 is running perfectly, however, we've chosen to upgrade to 2010 R3 as part of our 2012 evaluation. Can anyone list the patches required and the order to apply them to go BU exec 2010 R2 4164 to the current R3 patch level. (both32 bit and 64 bit) Thanks in advance.Solved2.4KViews1like4CommentsSymantec Backup Exec 2014
Hello to all, I am an intern in a mining company and we want to use a cloud backup solution as we have many small sites spread all over the world. So we are trying to find a solution that meets our needs. After searching about cloud solutions I found Symantec backup exec.cloud. I would like to inform me (if anyone knows) backupexec.cloud is a feature of Symantec backup exec 2014 or is it a product by itself? Furthermore, do we have to rent a space on a cloud company in order to store our data there? Does Symantec offers space for our data if we buy the backupexec.cloud? Thanks in advanceSolved2.2KViews0likes5CommentsBackup Exec 2015 Cloud Backup
Good Day, I am using Backup Exec 2015 and would like to implement backups to the cloud. I would some suggestions as to the best solution. I was thinking about using Backup Exec cloud connector for Microsoft Azure. I wanted to know what is the best and difference between Azure Storage and Azure Backup as a Service. Is there any other preferable solutions for this process? Thanks in advance!!!2.2KViews1like2CommentsSQL Restore from exec.cloud

I'm having some difficulty understanding the Catalog. My minimum requirements are to be able to restore from B2D for 1 month and be able to see at least3 months in the catalog (for Tape) in order to meet our SLAs. I have my Catalog set to truncate after 3 months. If I try to restore, I can see back to 07/13/2012. If I look in my \Program Files\Symantec\Backup Exec\Catalogs folder I can see catalogs dating back to 02/22/2012. Why can't I restore from 02/22/2012? Why the discrepancies? What is the Catalog actually looking at? (I am more interested in understanding than trying to accomplish a particular task.)Solved1.8KViews0likes6CommentsCloud server data sync to server

I have installed Backup Exec.Cloud on 3 computers so far I think the product needs lots of help, Mainly the rate at witch data is transferred. All 3 clients had good bandwidth (at least 5MBS up and 20 down) The uploads are taking way to long. This morning i installed a client and selected a folder with about 200 meg in it and 9 hours later it is 20% complete, The other 2 clients are just as slow. This product IS NOT ready for primetime.SolvedIN4NI11 years agoLevel 31.7KViews0likes5CommentsHow to set up retention period for Backup Excec.cloud?
How can I change retention period for backed up files? Or the whole storage? I'm backing up database dump and it's created again every night. There is no point to save files older than 2 weeks as this is 2nd level backup (if everything else fails or burns). Now storage gets filled over and over again with same files.SolvedTuontiyhtio12 years agoLevel 21.3KViews0likes3Comments
