Call Detail Record (CDR)
Hi there, has anyone of you had some experience with CDR's. CDR's are Telco style data sets, which describe calls placed by a customer.A call detail record containsmetadata– containingdata fieldsthat describe a specific instance of a telecommunication transaction, but does not include the content of that transaction, according to Wikipedia. Depending (on the noof fields captured)on the telco's definition, these files could be smaller or bigger. They are mostly zipped. I am yet to understand a bit more about it, but the questions is can Di be used to reduce the amount of primiary storage consumed here. Any comments/pointers will be appreciated. I'm working on Veritas Data Insight Version 5.1.1.8050 The help file states: “For more information about creating DQL queries, see the Veritas Data Insight SDK Programmer's Guide.” The most up-to-date copy of this document that I can find (via google) is a Symantec branded document version 4.0 dated June 2013. Is there a more up to date one? Specifically I’m interested in whether I can extract the file group (not just the extension) from queries on path. At the moment I’m extracting the extension and converting to file group in excel, but there must be a better way. The SDK document I have (2013) has a section on DQL Objects/Tables, but it doesn't reference file groups. I'm wondering ifthe set of available objects/tables has changedsince the date of the doc.4.6KViews0likes6CommentsData Insight 3.0.1 scanning cifs.homedir share
I am trying to setup Data Insight 3.0.1 with an artificial share so I can see activity on users home shares from a NetApp filer. I have created the .pb script as mentioned in the admin guide but I am struggling finding the user id to use with the configdb.exe command: Find the user ID of a Data Insight user assigned Product Administrator Server Administrator role from the latest configuration database table in the $DATADIT/conf folder. Is this the user ID of the Server Administrator that I see in the Settings -> Data Insight Users screen? If so how do I get the user ID from Windows? ... also ... Somewhere in the script I am guessing that the line: value: "/CIFS.HOMEDIR" should containg the actual path to the home directories? Thanks folks. Hi all First time asking a DQL quesiton, thanks for having an active forum and an opportunity to both ask and contribute. I've been all over the Programmers Refernce Guide, and while "IF" is mentioned as part of the DQL syntax, the obvious SQL-like "WHERE" isn't ... or at least explaining what's best to use in what sort of situations. to explain further: On one of the VOX discussions a member posted FROM path GET absname, device.name, permissions.readable_permission IF issensitive = 1 someone trying to help, suggested, amonst other changes, using WHERE instead of IF WHERE last_accessed < datetime("2017/05/01 00:00", "YYYY/MM/DD HH:mm") AND issensitive = 1 AND type = "FILE" AND matchi(parent.name, "*finance*") = 1 AND parent.type = "DIR" (ignore the specific arguments) https://vox.veritas.com/t5/Data-Insight/DQL-report-to-show-sensitive-files-user-activities-for-a-given/td-p/849410 So, is the choice of using WHERE (instead of "IF") simply the number of arguments are too many for "IF"? Is it a speed/indexing thing? (full table scans/query execution plans, etc) "IF" is legacy syntax and "WHERE" is current practice? or something else? coming from ANSI SQL, I'd be more comfortable using "WHERE", but if "IF" has different capabilities, it'd be very handy to know about it. thanks for your help. Cheers Barry (PS: I've not seen an example that had both "WHERE" and "IF" in the same DQL command ... just curious...)SolvedBarry_at_GU6 years agoLevel 23.3KViews0likes3CommentsDQL Report does not output to 1 file 5.0.1
I am using DI 5.0.1 and I am not able to have the DQL report to output to 1 single file. Is anyone else having this issue? I have a DQL query and when I am pulling some of the AD Attributes, it will separate the files. I even have put 'format user AS csv' at the end and it still puts it into multiple files. From user get name, principal_name, login, Home_directory, Department If Home_Directory not in ('nowhere') format user AS CSV; Please help!3.2KViews1like3CommentsExit code:1; Incorrect function
We have installed DI internally as a test using Partner NFR license key. Initial configuration done successfully and scanuser credential test is successful. We have added 7 shares. Full scans on all shares are successful. All Incremental scans were successful the first 2 days, then started failing on 2 shares. Full scans on these shares are still successful. I have searched for the meaning of the error (Exit code:1; Incorrect function), but cannot find anything. Can someone please point me in the right direction? Where do we start to troubleshoot?SolvedMarianne7 years agoLevel 63.2KViews0likes4CommentsCan the files in the \Data\Classification\content folder can be deleted manually?
Hi I am classifying files from a 3 TB share and in hindsight probably should have selected a small set of data as it seems to not be purging the files out before trying to process more. The drive has400GB space but has reached the max threshold set (10GB) and therefore processing has stopped. Most the data is here… D:\DataInsight\Data\Classification\Content\14… Can I just delete the files in this folder manually or is there a better course of action? A setting I have missed maybe? I cannot realistically keep expanding the drive size! Not sure it's relevant but I am not using the Windows Filer agent ThanksTTree20077 years agoLevel 43KViews0likes9CommentsGenerate a report that shows TAGS
I can not find a method to create a report that can show either the files and path of folders that include particular TAGs. I would like to be able to create a report that allows selecting a Filer and then finding all folders or files & path that have, say the UK-Passport Tagged.
