Switch from http port 80 to https ssl for portal and collectors

Has anyone made the switch from http port 80 to https ssl for the portal and the collectors?

We have successfully enabled 443 HTTPS for our portal server but the collectors are still using port 80. Does anyone have the steps for getting the collectors to communicator over 443 only? I have ticked the box in the collector properties but collection start to fail right away...  Any insight or advices is much appreciated.

  • As was mentioned, you need to install the portal's SSL cert on the Collectors, THEN check that box on the portal.

You may also want to double-check that the /usr/openv/analyticscollector/mbs/conf/collector.properties file URL entry is pointing to "https" rather than just "http". If you have to change it you should probably cycle the Collector services.

  • Did you enable SSL for both the portal/agent URL in httpd-ssl.conf?

NBU4Life to import the CERT on the data collector, you need to perform these steps

  • NBU4LifeThere is documentation with steps to configure SSL on DataCollector. Did you import the SSL certificate on Data Collector, and is it not working, or are you looking for steps to import the certificate?

Did you enable the SSL on the data collector policy?
