Is it possible to import catalog from Backup Exec 2010 running on Windows in to Backup Exec appliance 3600?

No, not necessarily. It should still be possible to do this manually if you have knowledge of BE.

give a try (make sure you do have copy of appliance data and catalog)
Appliance has windows 2008 r2 storage server
though would not recommend you to do it, as appliance has BE 2012 installed on it
Verify if you have BE 2010 on appliance then you can give try
...check the TN below. It stops at BE 2010, but might still be relevant to BE 2012:

i guess OP already has 2010 and as he mentioned of appliance being 3600 (which most obvious has BE 2010) so there shouldn't be problem at all. If it was 3600R2 which has 2012 we could have think otherwise
