Backup Exec Appliance take long time to duplicate backup sets to MS

 

Hi all. 

We configure a backup exec appliance with ESO and deduplication license, and we have 9 backup exec appliances with the Managed Server Rol, we share the deduplication disk of ESO and configured Optimized Duplications Between ESO an MS appliances.

 

It is important comment we seeding the backup sets from 9 MS to ESO.

The problem is when the duplication run from MS to ESO this can take from 8 hours to 2 days, we take metrics about a WAN and the results is @backupexec appliance only use a 1 Mbps from 3 or 6 Available.

This situation is critical, we opened a several support case and we have not solutions.

    Seeding actually means you send the data to a local device before copying locally to a remote device.

    You're duplicating.

    Check the performance on the appliance. If you're doing the duplications all at the same time you might be overloading the capabilities of the CASO.

    Thanks Craig, Yes we do Sedding process before to try backup exec duplicate data.

     

    The performance in the caso while the 9 remote appliances sends data is about a 50% CPU and 40% RAM, The network is only the 0.5%.

     

     

    We try do not send all the duplicates on same time, but the problem still.

    we already have opened a support case with this problem but after 2 weeks symantec dont find how to resolve this issue.

     

    I think send to trash backup exec and replace with another solution, Netbackup can not be because the difference on the cost is very high.
