An attempt to connect to SQL server

Dear All,

I have just installed Backup Exec 20.6 newly and i keep getting this error each time i tried to select SQL server database for backup ""An attempt to connect to SQL Server has failed. The logon account may have invalid credentials, or the logon account may have been applied to the wrong resource". 


I have made my backup exec service account a local administrator on the SQL remote agent server and i have also granted the service account the following roles and privileges on the SQL server using the sql management studio

 

dbcreator

securityadmin

serveradmin

sysadmin


yet i still cant browse nor able to select the databases from backup exec server.

 

pls does anyone has any idea what could be wrong and what i can do to resolve the issue. i can backup other sql server so its not an issue of license.

    Did you try to use the SQL Backup account login SQL via management studio?

    You may try to use another account which can login to SQL successfully.

      sa account was used for the sql installation, so any account that have access to the sql is added newly by the sa account. and thats just the same way the BE service acoount was added to the sql using the management studio
