Auftrag Medium zuweisen

Hallo zusammen,

Backup Exec jedoch nimmt einfach irgendein Medium.

  • BE does not simply take medium from other media sets.  There is a sequence.  See this article.

How Backup Exec searches for overwritable media

That said, the reason why it need take medium from some other media set other than the targeted media set is that either the OPP or AP for the targeted media set is not set correctly.  If the OPP is not set correctly, then your job would not have an overwriteable tape in the targeted media set when it needs one,  Thus the job is forced to get a medium from some other media set.  This is to prevent the job from failing when there are available media in the tape library.

I would suggest that you look at your media to make sure that your job can use them when it starts.  For example, check that the medium is overwriteable BEFORE the job starts, not after the job starts.  If you are not familar with OPP and AP, see this document

    OPP and AP explanation

  • Without partitioning your library, no way in achieving what you are asking for.
