backup archive vmdk

Hello,

In backup from virtual machine only is needed the backup File type "Disk Descriptor" to the restore. i am performed restore virtual machine with option "To a Different Path" and when upload the vmdk to Datastore, add to Inventory to Vcenter, Power On Virtual Machien this displayed message:

 

"An unexpected error was received from the ESX host while powering on VM vm-199.
Module DevicePowerOn power on failed. 
Unable to create virtual SCSI device for scsi0:0, '/vmfs/volumes/4ff5c3be-c488bc3c-e7aa-d4ae52da6579/vSOLMAN/vSOLMAN.vmdk' 
Failed to open disk scsi0:0: Unsupported or invalid disk type 7.  Ensure that the disk has been imported."

    Wouldn't it be easier just to use the redirect to a renamed VM/other datastore option instead of redirecting to a path?

    If you must redirect to path, then what utility are you then using to upload back into VMware?
