backup data encountering an error V-79-57344-34004

Hi Guys,

     My bakcup exec encountered a trouble when back up data from a server (other servers are Okay), error informaitongs below;

Verify- \target server\   end of backup set encountered on HP 000x.

V-79-57344-34004 - End of data set was unexpectedly encountered.

Exceptions:

BackupV-79-57344-34108 - An unexpected error occurred when cleaning up snapshot volumes. Confirm that all snapped volumes are correctly resynchronized with the original volumes.

I think the problem should be caused by target server, not bakcup server, can you tell me how to troubleshoot  this issue, many thanks.

    Is the remote server running windows server 2003 or a different OS? If running 2003, consider installing this VSS patch ~ http://support.microsoft.com/kb/940349

    If running an AV on the server, exclude it from scanning the Backup Exec remote agent.

    What type of data is being backed up ? Is it just flat-file data or does it include databases ? If no databases are being backed up, ensure Advanced Open File option is enabled & set to use the microsoft vss provider.

        Sorry, i provide detailed error messages for you in the following,

    one the backup server

       Errors below

    Verify- \\the remote server\System?State
               \\the remote server\System?State  Unexpected end of backup set encountered on HP 0005.

       Exceptions

    BackupV-79-57344-34108 - An unexpected error occurred when cleaning up snapshot volumes. Confirm that all snapped volumes are correctly resynchronized with the original volumes.

    AOFO is enabled all the time, an AV is running on the backup server.

    on the remote serevr

    it's running windows7 64-bit, there aren't any AVs or Dell OpenManage Server Administrator intalled, only 'symantec backup agent','SQL server 2008','Vmware tools'are intalled on the remote server.

    all other remote servers are Okay except for this windows 64-bit, this issue have confused me for almost one week. it seems the link you told me is not suitable to my issue, can you please help me to check this again, many thanks in advance.

    Hello,

    Perform chkdsk on the remote server C:\ Drive and check whether there is any issue related to windows file system if yes resolve that first.

    Hi All, i am getting below error when running catalog job.

    Catalog- \\**************\E: New VolumeUnexpected end of backup set encountered on HP 0003.
    V-79-57344-34004 - End of data set was unexpectedly encountered.

    This backed up job was done using another Media Server and I want to restore files from it.

    Any help will be greatly appreciated, thanks.
