Backup Exec 10d (10.1.5629) Remote Agent Windows Server (RAWS) 64 bit

I would like to follow up from solved link:

After installing RAWSx64InstallMedia_280701.rar into 64 Bit Windows 7, we can backup without any issue.

The service was running under "services.msc", but always got blue screen when computer restarted or startup.

We would like know to solve this issue as soon as possible.

    Win 7 is un-supported with BE 10d. Limited support started with BE 12.5 & full support was in BE 2010... It may have worked for you earlier however as this is a non-tested, non-compatible environment, it would be difficult to get support.

    Windows 7 is an unsupported OS for BE 10d. Adding to that BE 10d is also End of Life. I would suggest you to upgrade to BE 2010 or BE 2012.

    The agent worked well, however it just stuck the blue screen when it booted.

    It should have solution to void this issue.

    Download the ISO below, and when you run setup.exe, it will install the appropriate version based on your OS:

    Not just agent. You will have to upgrade the existing media server as well.

    Very sad, we were very happy RAWSx64InstallMedia_280701.rar solved the installation issue.

    But it went blue screen. Somehow there some windows pop-up said "Digitaly not signed".

    I believe Symantec can solve this solution by just fixing the agent compatibility, instead suggesting to upgrade.

    BE 10d: EOL = 6 Nov. 2006; EOLS = 6 May 2009; EOS = 18 January 2012

     

    That product is 8 years old, and BE itself has moved on substantially since 10d...no chance they will retrofit the agents to support new hardware or software. Not even BE 12.5 will support Windows 2012 or Windows 8 for instance.

    Another way to solve this problem is to keep all your software at the same vintage as BE 10d and not to use Windows 7.  You can also save on the upgrade fee that Microsoft charges you.
