  • Check the alerts tab for any active alert waiting for your response.

    Also check if the target device is ready 

  • Try this one that always works for me.  Pause the library in the devices list.  Then un-pause them.  If this does not work, and all your devices are showing on line but you've recently had a device failure that you've recovered from - ensure that you have no error lights on your drives, if you do clear them or power cycle the library.  Then restart all your BE services which will force BE to query the devices for their current status.

    Even more effective: try pause/unpause the Backup Exec Server in the device view.
