Backup Exec 2010 R2 Mac Snow Leopard Agent

Dear all,

i am new in thie forum and hope to find an answer for my problem.

I just installed the new Backup Exec Agent on our Snow Leopard Server using the Backup Exec 2010 R2 version. The installation worked fine without errors. Only the Group "admin" was not added to the snow leopard server. So i added the group manually described in the Admin Guide. The only problem is the short term name of the group is "backup" because the short term name "admin" is already in use.
I have got the problem that i can not add the snow leopard server to the management server with the error, wrong username or password. Is this becaus of the short term name "bacup"? Is it possible to use/configure a different group on the snow leopard server.

Hope anyone can help me

    What do you get as error message: does it show you "kGotAuthenticationFailure"
    or 
    "Authentication failed" message right below the password dialog in red.

    You should be authenticating with the directory admin account. diradmin and the password that is associated with it. In snow leopard the directory utility was moved to /System/Library/CoreServices.

    Please post with as much information as you can if it doesn't resolve the issue

    I tried to authenticat using the diradmin user from our Management Server without success. The error message i get on the Management Server is (itranslaed it from german actually we`ve got an german Management Server):

    During discovering of the XXXXXX Server an error occured. The given authentification login account is not valid. Be shure you are using the correct usename and password and try again.

    I also changed the password for the diradmin user with passwd in order to be shure using th correct password.

    Is there a logfile on the Snow Leopard Server in order to see any authentification issues?

    It looks like it is working now. The mistake i obviously did was i used the login creditail like this:

    "ip adress of the server"\username this seems to be wrong. I tried using only "username" without "ip adress of the server"\ and it looks like ist is working. I can now browse the Snow Leopard Server from the management server.

    I used the account member of the group admin i added after the installation of the agent on the Snow Leopard Server. the diradmin account did not work. Perhaps this is because the Directory Service is running but not in use and therefore perhaps not configured correctly. Actually i am not very confirm in Directory Services with Snow Leopard.

    Nevertheless it seems it is working now. I will post tomorrow if the backup job was running successfully.
