i want to know if it is possible to manage backup exec 2010 mediaservers with a 2012 central admin server ? (both are installed as a trial)
I´ve tryed to add a 2010 server to the 2012 CASO but it doesn´t work
Error: The server xxx does not appear to be a valid central administration server

but if central admin server is version 2010R3 ? Could it be possible to add media servers with version 2012 ?
Nopes. A CASO server running BE 2010 cannot manage a MMS server running BE 2012
Alternatively, CASO server running BE 2012 can 'manage' MMS servers running BE 2010 R3 SP2 atleast for rolling upgrade purposes only, and it cannot 'add' any new MMS server running BE 2010
Forward compatibility is not supported. Therefore, any system that runs Backup Exec 2010 cannot protect a system that runs Backup Exec 2012.

our configuration at the moment:
backep exec central admin server 2010R3 SP2
35 managed media servers with backup exec 2010 R3 SP2
how can i upgarde all to 2012 ? Whats the right way to do this?
