BACKUP EXEC 2012: No Selection list for Information Store Exchange 2007 Failover Cluster

Hello

I need help in following matter:

I am migrating from Backup Exec 12 to Backup Exec 2012. When I am trying to backup Exchange Server, I get no Selection List for Information Stores

- I have installed Backup Exec 2012 on new Windows Server 2008 R2 Installation

- I have installed Exchange 2007 Management tools from Exchange 2007 SP3. After lunching Managment tools on Backup server I can view whole Exchange infrstructure.

- Logon Account for backups have not changed, it was used earlier to backup Exchange Servers in Backup Exec 12

- I try to create whole backup jobs schedule from scratch, I did not try to copy the jobs from earlier server.

- I uninstalled old backup agents from Exchange servers, and push installed new agents from Backup Exec Media Server

- I have installed Agent for Application and Databases on Media Server

Please help me with this, I have no idea why I can't backup Exchange.

Looks like credentials. What are the rights given to the current account ?

There might have been an additional check added in later version of Backup Exec hence you are seing this. Please refer the article and see if you meet all requirements as far as the creds are concerned.

  • Do you get a browse failure ? or you are able to see the other resources like C drive etc but not information store ? Can you post a screenshot. Please also enable SGMON.exe on media server and exchange node (select first checkbox and third party component, capture to file) then upload the sgmon log from media server and exchange server (The log will be in BE install path\logs on media server and RAWS Install Path\logs on Exchange server). Also verify the account just in case something changed (http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH51740)

  • Hello

I can see Disks to backup, but don't have the Information Stores. I attached screenshot to that post.

I am also attaching Logs you asked for.

    Regarding the account, nothing changed.

Yesterday I fall back to Backup Exec 12, pushed old agent install and backed up whole Exchange successfully.

Maybe I forgot to install something?

  • Hello

It turns out you were right.

Backup Account was View-Only Administrator for whole Organization. After adding it to Exchange Organization Administrators, I successfully retrieved store list.

    Thank you for your help.
