Backup exec 2014 tape check

Backup exec 2014: how often should we check tapes that recorded to confirm if they work or not.(we deleted source)..

    ...check the job log and it will tell you if it verified or not.

    If you don't run a Verify job, then there is no way of knowing whether or not the data on tape is restorable. The only way around this is to run a test restore and record the results.

    The only way to check whether a tape is still good is to read it. A good way we'll be to duplicate it to a new tape.

    The matter that we want to learn is different. We already do run a verify job when we save.     Well, you need to check the tape manufacturer's site to see how long they will last. It depends on the environment they're stored in. Errors on the tape, usage etc...
