Backup Exec and vmWARE Server 2.0
Hello Team,
Need your support on the below scenario: -
Following is the customer server information for which we need a solution: -
· 3 servers running VMware 2.0
· Each server has one virtual machine running PACS (X-Ray application that archives the X-Ray images to the disk-storage)
Virtual Machine information: -
Operating System on VM |
Application on VM |
Internal Storage to VM |
Windows 2003 Server |
MS SQL 2005 |
300 GB |
Windows 2008 Server |
Sybase |
300 GB |
Windows 2008 Server |
- |
300 GB |
· All of the above servers are connected to a centralized storage system with: -
o Total Capacity - 22TB
o Used Capacity - 8TB (PACS X-Rays images)
We need to propose a solution that can backup vmware 2.0 VM servers and storage mentioned above.
All you can do is install Remote Agents inside of Each Virtual Machine (assuming their Operating Systems are supported) and then run remote agent backups and as part of this you might also have to get creative with Sybase as we don't have an agent for that so to back that up with Backup Exec you will probably have to schedule data exports to files and then backup the files.
