Backup Exec does not backup files and subfolders selected, without any error

Dear comunity

A customer has an Win2019 Server (DC and fileshae), we were back up with backup exec 23.

But in some folders on a disk it does not backup any informations in some subfolders (Simplified Disaster Recovery: on). Lucky to see all public and privatefolders were backed up, and lucky me windows shadowcopy funtion safed us from data loss...

If I select a file or subfolder in extra backupjob (eg. 774MB see attachment) the backup runs without any error, with in seconds, but the file(s) selected are not in the backup.

The same problem exitsts with v21.4 and now v23. I dit not tried to update to v24 or 25. We use the backup agent, because the customer runs it server under vCenter 5.5 essentials... Yes we know it is out of date...

Any idea is welcome.

Cheers Daniel

I have not seen this before happening without a intended configuration.

I think there is an configured exclusion, perhaps in the job or as global exclusion.

Is there a second example? Does it happen only in this Folder?

Is a newly created (big) file backed up?

    Kind Regards from Germany

There are no exclusions in place. There is no difference if there are files of any kind or subfolders.

There are only three folders on that disk-partition-volume that will be backuped fully (yellow ones).

Because this was unter v21.3, I habe done an :Update to v23 -> same issue
Recreation the job -> same issue
Check all the permissions and the heritage of them -> no difference

The only differece is that the two usershares "public" und "private" were backedup correctly...

    I have no ideas.
