Backup Exec Upgrade to 2014

Hello,

 

Currently we have BE 2012 installed in windows 2008 , we are planning to install 2014 in windows 2012

 

Can we install BE 2014 fresh and copy the catalogue from BE 2012 , will the backup/restore works ?

or 

Just upgrade 2012 to 2014 on windows 2008 and install BE 2014 on windows and move it ?

 

I believe Be 2014 support 2012 Windows agent  does it require reboot when upgrading the agent to 2014 ?

 

Please help...

    I would recommend to do an in-place upgrade on the Win 2008 server from BE 2012 to BE 2014 and then move the newly upraded BE to the new server.

    Use this KB for moving BE to another server - http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH129826

    And, I would recommend a reboot of the remote servers post the update.
