Backup Exec v22 deduplication sizing tool

Dear Backup Exec users, kf2013, rookie11 ,

I'm working in new customers opportunites, it is required to size the back-end storage for deduplication option solutions.

Does Veritas have any kind of sizing tool and/or guidelines or best practices document for disk storage sizing in Backup Exec v22?

Can we use a deduplication sizing tool for Netbackup in case we don't have any sizing tool for Backup Exec?

In Veeam and CommVault the partners use an excel file to estimate the deduplicated storage capacity based on backup policies, retention and data type.

    Does Veritas have any kind of sizing tool and/or guidelines or best practices document for disk storage sizing in Backup Exec v22 -- yes. My veritas sales engineer & sales manager helped me on this. They can give you a dedupe disk pool estimate & next 3 year forecast.

    keypoints to note:- 

    - list all server\vm size

    - DB size , server count

    - Fileservers count, size(if any MS dedupe enabled), i would rate this as most important

    - If 100TB dedupe disk you need , always 10% to it. (budget approval in one go in easier than asking for it later)smiley
