I searched alot but i couldnt find any help except for Backup Exec 12.5 d for windows small business server standaed edition but i couldnt find what agents are included and what is the difference betwnn Standard and Premium editions ? Thanks for help.
  • Hi there,

BEWS 11D isn't sold anymore, and unless your agreement with Symantec allows for version upgrades, your best bet is to actually look at 12.5 at a minimum. BEWS 2010 is also out now.
THe default agents included would be:

1 x Library Expantion Option license (licensed for 1 tape drive in a library; you need additional licenses for additional drives)
Advanced Open File Option (purchased separately in BEWS 11D back)

BEWS for SBS is only for a server running Small Business Server. If you don't have it installed, you need to look at Backup Exec for Windows Servers instead. The price of agents would depend on the number of agents required. However, agents also include a Remote Agent for Windows Servers...
What I would suggest is to get hold of a reseller in your country, send them your requirements and then see how much they will charge. Requirements would include:

    1. # of media servers
    2. # of application agents
    3. # of remote agents required
    4. # of drives in any libraries
    5. Additional agents like VM support, deduplication option (if you opt for BEWS 2010), SAN SSO or CASO.

    Hope this helps...
