Backup Exec windows based bkf files

I just took over administration of an environment and it appears the backup for user data was set to only keep backup files for a week.  Well the unthinkable happen and the server failed and I need to perform a restore but the files were deleted because the backup config was set to only keep files for a week.  If I was able to recover the deleted backup .bkf files would I be able to perform a inventory and catalog of the deleted backup files in order to perform a restore.  Thanks
