backup issue.

while I'm backing up my data for archive it's not happening in the particular slot tape which I'm choosing, instead of it is happening in some other tape which I have not selected.. pls help me....

      Hi Gurvinder,

      If I don't want partition means,?? like I want my data to be in a single pool??

        if this is the only scratch media which is present then BE will according to the global settings -> Storage -> Media overwrite options will choose scratch over recyclable media and assign it to the Backup job media set which is set in the job. There are a few principles which BE follows to pick media and if you want to backup to specifc media then better to use BE software partition. You can read about the media management in this document which explains how BE uses the media.
