Backup of SilverStream (now Novell Extend)

The backup of the silvermaster.db is not happening due to the fact that the file is open at the time of the backup. I tried to fool around writting a batch job that includes the Windows 98 utility called KILL.EXE. I tried giving it the process name, but the batch file does not stop silverserver.exe or silverserver.ex.exe.

Anyway, I am open to any suggestions on how to get daily backup without having to manually stop the application server, run the backup, and then restart. This is a mission criticial application that needs to be running all day. But I can have the application server come down like at midnight for a backup to occur.

    Found out it can not be done unless it is manually stopped and then using BE remote agent.
