Backup Schedule

Hi,

I would like to know if my backup schedule is coherent. Actually I use 2 Jobs.
- 1 FULL backup on sunday
- 1 Incremential backup (modifed Time Method) from Tuesday to Friday.

In the case where I have to Restore all my Data on Thursday for example,First I restore my FULL backup of last sunday and my Incremental backup of Tuesday and Wednesday.
However, Incremental backup of Tuesday backup changed files since last incremental : Friday.
As a result there are duplicate data between the FULL backup and the incremental

I should add an incremental backup on Monday in order to restore the Incremental backup of Tuesday with Only the changed Files since Monday. Isn't It ?

    If you use modified time, you MUST use the same selections list for your FULL and the INCR or DIFF

    If you use archive  bit,  you should use the same list, but do not have to

    Incremental backup will pick up all the files which are modified since last full or last incremental backup.

    Ok but I don't use the same selection between the full and the Incremental.

    The 2 Selections have the same data to backup but they have a different name.

    How is the Full backup job configured, is it configured with Reset Archive bit or Modified Time?

    You should use the same selection list for the full and incremental and in fact you should probably configure them as a policy with a full and incremental template inside the policy

    And the Full backup needs the modified time setting as well, if you use modified time for the incremental.
