BE 2010 R3 VMDK Restore Redirection Error

Good Day,

Im running BE 2010 R3 with VMWare Option installed. Full back up to tape are working fine, file level restore with redirection is ok also but when i try to restore a vmdk file and redirect it to local disk i keep on getting this error:

 

 

I know i need to check the option "delete existing virtual machine" when i restore it directly to vcenter but restoring it to a local disk i don't understand why it is still required. When we are using BE 12.5 i don't need this option to restore.

 

Can anybody explain why is this needed and if i check this option will this delete my existing server running? And if there is a workaround for this not selecting the option and completing restoration.
