BE 2012 BEMCLI command hyper-v guest restore

Have you taken a look at the Submit-BEFileSystemRestoreJob cmdlet?  I don't know whether you can use it to restore the VHD file.

Yes, I have lloked at that but my understanding is that it is only restore of files/folders that is possible with that command and not a virtual guest. but maybe it works in some way but I dont really know what parameters shoudl be used to get it to work.

Well that su***....., for how long have backup exec  been around ? over 10 years ? and I have always used it to all my customers since I belive it have been the best program to do backups with and now when you truly need a function then it dies not exist. so we can say that the development have not come so far during this years !

Well I have to try that and if that does not work then I must see if I can find som other piece of sowtware that can do it instead.

I cant get that to work either, I made a new backu pjob that backups the .VHD files only not the whole hyper-v guest, but it will not work, I even tried to deselect "advance open file option" so it would not use snapshots but still it does not work. Any suggestion what to try ?

User Get-BEJobHistory and pipe the job history into Submit-BEFileSystemRestoreJob

This does not still work, is says this:

What does BE mean by "specified point-in-time." ? because if I list the job the last backup was successful.

After your backup job, take a look at the backup set and check whether the vhd file is in the backup set.  Also check that the get-bejobhistory command is getting the correct backup.

I would suggest that you create a small vhd file and play around with its backup and restore before you move on to your actual vhd.  This is so that you would not have to waste time backing up a big vhd file and you can get the right combination of BEMCLI cmdlets.

Yep, I look in the backup set I can see tha .VHD files.

Can it be so that it is problem because it is from a ClusterStorage I am trying to do the restore ? from GUI it works ok to restore from the same place.
