BE16: Move backup catalog from one machine to another

Hi everybody,

my company is in process of shutting down a remote location. As of today, there was a stand-alone installation of BE16 at this location. Full file backups were run every week. I have their LTO backup tapes here at my place now.

What would be the best practice to get the catalogs from the old location over to the new one? So we can search their catalogs? I still have full access on the old machine. Both installations are identical BE16 on Windows Server 2016.

    The best method is to inventory and catalog the tapes from that location.  This assumes that the tape labels from that location does not clash with the tape labels in the target location.

    Sorry, this is not convenient as these are ~200 tapes. Isn´t there a way to simply integrate the catalog? I tried copying the catalog folder under the program files directory, but it had no effect. Is there a sql database involved?
