Just two questions I need clarified.
1. Is Advanced Open File Option free or do I have to buy a license in order to use it?
2. MS SQL Agent: Does the term "filegroups" include data + transaction logs? Trying to figure out if a "Differential - Back up database or filegroup changes only" includes the transaction logs.

Nope, in the BE 2010 R3 Admin Guide on the link below, I see Appendix J Symantec Backup Exec Agent for Microsoft SQL Server, and from pg. 1302 you will find what you are looking for.

Ooops. I was using the BE 2010 Admin Guide, not the R2/R3. Even then, on page 1302, it doesn't mention filegroups, but re-reading the entire section about SQL Backups on this new guide, it constantly mentions database/filegroups together and log as a separate job. So it sounds like filegroups does not include logs
