Blank Restore Windows
I am attempting to backup a 2010 Exchange server that is on a Windows 2012 server running Backup Exec 2012. I have all of the very latest patches and hotfixes installed. The Exchange server is remote and being backed up via a remote agent, directly to tape. The entire server is being backed up. The backup runs fine, with no errors, and the Job History shows it is completed normally. The problem is that if I attempt to restore, the restore wiziard shows a blank screen with no selections available. If I look at Backup sets it is blank as well. I have tried rebuilding the index on the catalog, but that made no difference.
I've seen other posts with similar issues, but never a resolution.
Thanks everyone for your efforts. Unfortunately I have come to the conclusion that the only way this ever gets fixed is if I have technical support from Symantec and/or if I upgrade to Backup Exec 2014. Doing that will cost nearly $1,000 and I am just not willing to put that much money into what has so far been a very disappointing product. I am taking that $1,000 and putting it towards a Barracuda Backup appliance and cloud subscription. I hate to just abandon my investment in Backup Exec, tapes and tape drive, but at this time it seems like the only logical answer.
