Cannot backup virtual machine - Snapshot error

Hi,

I am trying to backup a newly created VM using BE 2012 and it keep failing on me with the followin error..un-instal

An error occurred while taking a snapshot: msg.snapshot.error-QUIESCINGERROR.
An error occurred while saving the snapshot: msg.snapshot.error-QUIESCINGERROR.

I have read online in a few forums that users do face this error from time to time...so I have tried a couple of things

> I tried taking a manual snapshot with the Quiesc option and it completed successfully

> I un-installed the VM tools and re-installed it without the VSS option and it still did work and I wasnt able to backup the VM using BE 2012.]

Anyone here has been able to fix the issue.. as of now I am lost for ideas...

    1. Do you have a paid version of ESX? BE requires VADP to work and this only comes with the paid version. 2. After you install VMTools, you should push out the remote agent again so the the BE VSS provider can be installed

    Yes, we have paid version if ESX 5.5 and also I am able to backup the rest of my VM's without any issues.. its only this newly created one which is giving me issues...

    Ok its fixed.. I pushed the agent as per pkh and now I can backup the VM and the snapshot sucessfully can be taken!
