I have TS3100 Library. I have designate slot 23 as a cleaning slot. Cleaning tape is inserted in slot 23 as well. When i try to run the CLEAN job, it gives following error. Final error: 0xe000810d - Physical Volume Library Media not found. Final error category: Backup Media Errors Completed status: Failed When I move the CLEANING TAPE manuall to drive, it works fine and clean the tape, but BE not moving it with above error. Also other tapes are working normal like backup is done ok. only cleaning have isses.

Finally Solved. Changed the BARCODE media type as following and now Cleaning works ok :) I guess for IBM TS, LTO CLN is required to be selected.

Yes using physical panel of ts3100 cleaning works fine, also via its GUI (ibm ts3100 web gui) , cleaning works fine

only be is not doing th clean job

I tried all the options mentioned in the article TECH68096 and TECH24972 with same error.

Try including Slot 23 into the earlier partition instead of putting it into a separate partition

...try removing the partition and job (if scheduled) and recreate.
