Data/ Tape Encryption on Exchange 2003 with GRT.

Can I run encryption backups on exchange servers if I have the Granular Restore Technology enabled? I think I read that it could not be done with CPS Continuous Protection Server.

Also does anyone know why we can't enable hardware compression while running encryption? I'd hate to see 800 GB go down to the regular 400 or less.
