Device Manager shows "Quantum SDLT/DLT SuperLoader"

Hello all,

As I understand things I need to use the BUE 2010 R2 drivers for managing my Quantum SuperLoader 3, however Device Manager is reporting the Medium Changer to be a Quantum SDLT/DLT SuperLoader as opposed to 'Uunknown Medium Changer'.  How do I go about changing this?

Thanks

Tony

  • Hi,

Open up Device Manager in Windows, right-click it and go to Properties. Under Drivers, choose the option to change it...you'd select the option to install the driver yourself, and the Unknown Medium Changer is then listed there.

Also make sure that the BE drivers are installed for the tape drive.

    Thanks!

  • In the Device Manager  right click on Medium changer and then select Update Driver... then next... Next... then select the Unknoen Medium changer driver and complete the driver installation.

Now it should show Unknown Medium Changer.

    Thanks,

  • Thanks all  - I have now changed the Medium Changer to Unknown.

CraigV - How do I make sure I am using the BE Tape drivers?  Device Manager currently reports the Tape Driver as Quantum LTO5.  The drivers ar halfinch.sys and tpfilter.sys

  • Go to C:\Program Files\Symantec\Backup Exec and run the TAPEINST.exe file.

This will run the installation and install the Symantec drivers for your tape drive.

Also you can update it the same way as you did for Medium changer.

    Thanks,
