Do We need User Name and password while installing BE 2010.
I need to install the fresh version of BE2010.
What is really needed for installing this at a server that would be used for backing up databases and other data as well.

Yes you need to specify user name & password at the time of installation.
The same account will be used by all the services and for the backups.
After the installation you can make use of a different user account too.
The account has to be a domain admin account with the frights mentioned in the below article.

For online database backup you need the Database agent.
