To meet the Symantec Licensing scheme, yes

A media server can typically work properly with a one version back RAWS, but this is supported "for the purpose of rolling upgrades only" ie: if you have a lot of remote servers, you do not have to upgrade the RAWS on all of them at the same time. 

But you must upgrade them all as time/work schedule permits

The thing is with my current setup I am able to perform full backups of the NSF files and restore successfully, but am failing with restortation of the point in time backups?

If I upgrade my symantec backup exec, are you saying that I will be able to restore successfully - As it should be working? Also would this explain why my transaction log files are of such low size?

When a product/version is unsupported, it means that it has not been fully tested by Symantec with that version of BE.  If it works, you are lucky.  If it does not or give funny results, you are on your own and you cannot open a support case with Symantec.  This is the situation you are in right now.

If you upgrade to BE 2010 and you still have the same problem, then you can open a support case with Symantec.

If you do not upgrade your remote agent after you upgrade your media server to BE 2010, then it is the same situation as you are right now, i.e, trying to backup Domino 8.5 with BE 12.5.

BE has nothing to do with your Domino transaction logs.  It just makes use of them.

I have upgraded my backup exec to 2010 R3 v13 and i've tried to restore from a point in time from a backup that was created in BE12.5 but it is still only restoring to the last full backup (not Point in time)?

The BE 12.5 backup may be bad.  Try to do it with a backup done with BE 2010 R3.

Hi - I've managed to carry out a backup using BE2010 R3, so the full backup completed successffully but am trying to carry out an incremental backup and I am repeatedly getting the following error;

'Final error: 0xe00094a0 - The Lotus Domino server timed out during an operation. Restart the Backup Exec Remote Agent for Windows Systems service'

I have restarted all the backup exec services and it still keeps failing! I do not want to restart the domino server because BE will then end up carrying out a full backup again (because of the new DBID)

Please Help......?

Uninstall & reinstall the domino agent...however a reboot would be required after the uninstall...

Are you referring to the domino agent installed on the backup exec server - (not the agent on the domino server) ?

How do I go about uninstalling the domino agent from the BE server? It does not appear in Add/Remove?
