I have completed a backup to disk job of our file servers.
I am now trying to duplicate this job to a blank tape.
However, the duplicate job refuses to backup to tape and starts duplicating to disk no matter what media destination or device pool is selected.
The original backup is 1.2 TB, the duplication fails as it fills the backup to disk folder.
Does Duplication have to copy its contents out before re-writing to tape?

Are you sure that you configured the destination device as tape drive or library?
Have a look at your duplicate job confgiuration once...

I ended up creating a new Media Pool and re-creating the job for this to work, same setting thou.
Bizzare.
You could have targeted your job to the tape drive, rather than a media pool. When you target a media pool, the job will use the first available device, be it tape drive or B2D folder.
It's not device pool. User is saying about media pool/set.
Is there such a thing as a media pool?
Media Set only. Also can be called as media pool. Admin guide pg.258.
But infact i never used the word media pool.
