E-Mail notification when cleaning tape is needed

Hi

 

Is there a way to generate a e-mail notification when cleaning tape is needed?

I have configured the alerts in Backup Exec for media error.

Is this right? Will this generate a mail and say cleaning tape is needed?

    Unfortunately, no.

    For some tape libraries, like HP, you can configure it to auto-clean when it needs to be cleaned.

    Otherwise, you can schedule a cleaning job to run periodically.
