Exchange 2007 backups failing with e0008488 - Access is denied.

Hi All,

Exchange 2007 backups on one of my BE 12 server is failing with the above error message.

I have made sure that all the requirements for GRT backup on tape are satisfying.

If i run the backup without GRT the backup completes successfully.

I had the same issue few months back and that time Symantec tech resolved the issue after just putting the RAWS on exchange 2007 server in debug mode (I know it is strange but that is the truth!). 

I again had the same issue last month and i resolved the issue again by just putting the RAWS in debug mode.

I don't know why this time it doesn't want to work this time.

Anybody got any suggestions?

    Hi All,

    Finally I was able to resolve the issue...!    I just needed to reboot the exchange 2007 server in order to resolve this issue.

    Hi,

     

    Is your media server fully patched, and have you pushed any updates out to your remote servers if you have?

    What happens if you try a GRT backup using a new service account that you create with the required permissions?
