Hi,

We have exchange job that occasionall fails by the error code E00002F7

I searched for this problem and came out in a forum to apply a hotfix http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH128187

We have Backup Exec 2010 v 13.0  2896

Can we apply this hotfix? It's for backup exec R2 and R3

Are there other solutions for this

Thx

  • Hi,

I've founded, there wasn't anything in add/remove programs.

So i did a wmic program and then msiexec. Delete directories and reboot (this was this morning)

    still didn't work

now i've deleted the windows server remote agent key directory and rebooted

    Thx Sush for the info

  • You can upgrade to BE2010R3 'for free'.

Your current license keys will continue to work.

I would recommend to install BE2010R3 and install the hotfix.

No. The Hotfix can not be appplied for R1 as that is completely different version. As ZeroCool said first you will have to upgrade to BE 2010 R3 and then apply the HF (do check if pre-requisite for that HF is any Servoce Pack or other HFs).

    Thanks,

    -Sush...

  • Hi Sush,

Well atm i'm testing BE 2012.

Maybe in a few weeks we can upgrade to that.

    Another thing:

I've installed agent 2012 on a server that previous had agent 2010.

Now i'm trying to reverse this again, but i have a few failure.

    Error 1603

so i went to taskmgr and ended all msiexec processes and try it again = failure

other thing i tried was to execute the setupaax64 but i got again failure (other setup is running) while there isn't any running.

May i delete this reg files ?

    and reboot the server

    Regards

  • You will first have to uninstall RAWS completely and then install RAWS of BE 2010. Because component which is upgraded to BE 2012 RAWS will not allow BE 2010 RAWS to get install.

    Thanks,

    -Sush...

  • Check this technote for manually uninstalling RAWS:

http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH130940 : How to perform an automated or manual uninstall of the Backup Exec Remote Agent for Windows Systems (RAWS) and BE VSS Provider - in 2010, 2010 R2 and 2010 R3 ONLY

    Thanks,
