Hallo
System: Windows 2003 Backup Exec 11d SP3, Gerät Tandberg LTO 03
Fehlermeldung nach dem Backup:
e00084ca - Von Medium gelesene Daten sind nicht konsistent.
Before troubleshooting install SP5 for the Backup Exec 11d and also update the drivers for the
tape drive. For troubleshooting the error message refer to the below link
http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH35908
Thanks for your answer, i found the tapeinstaller, but in liveupdate i do not get the SP5.
The 11d Installation is only for testing the Tandberg LTO because i want to put this drive in our Domain Controller(also Win 2003) instead of an Quantum DLT V4 wich reaches the End of Capacity
Regards
Peter
you may download Sp 5 it manually from the following link

Note : Its always recommended to install backup exec on an seperate server
...if it's for testing, is your production media server running BE 11d as well?
If you have support, why not consider doing an upgrade to BE 2010 R3 which will support that device?
http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH137050
Having support will allow you to upgrade for free, and all you will have to do is apply for new license keys.
Alternatively, install BE 2010 R3 onto the test server to prove it does work, which gives you greater scope to motivate for an upgrade.
Thank you, but my revision is 6235 so the Update don't work
Regards
Peter
On our production server BE11d V6235 is running very well and i like the it.
How can i find out if i have support.
Regards Peter
...upgrade to BE 11d with SP5, and from there you can direct-upgrade to BE 2010 R3.
Check the TN below
http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH159557
You'd need to contact the licensing department to find out. Alternatively you should have a certificate with the support details on it. If you're not paying licensing fees on a yearly basis, chances are that your support has expired. This means you're going to have to pay for new licenses.
Unfortunately, 11d now, and in the future, will prevent you from using new hardware or backing up new applications like Exchange 2010, Sharepoint 2010, Windows Server 2008 R2 etc. MIght be time to motivate for the upgrade.

So i upgraded from 11d on my testserver but the problems are still there. I use a new tandberg LT3 HH drive
The tandberg support guy said this is a polling problem, but the registy hack didn't work. I very confused because at first tandbeg told me, that the lto3 drive works with 11d.
Best i throw all away and make may backups only with acronis, this is really working.
Regards Peter
OK, couple more things to try then:
1. Take all the tapes out but leave 1. Format/erase the tape using BE and try a backup again.
2. If this doesn't work, try formatting/erasing the tape using the Tandberg device utility.
3. Check and make sure that the tapes in the drive are supported.
4. Check and make sure that you have connected the library to a supported SCSI card, NOT a RAID controller.
5. Stop any other backup software services.
6. If using Windows Server 2003, stop the Removable Storage serice and restart the BE services.
Thanks!
