Are there limitations within the V-Ray license (socket count, host count, VM count) that's part of this? What about agent support (like dedupe)?

how is "V-Ray" different from BE2012 with the agent for vmware and hyper-v? Is V-Ray just a marketing term for the same thing?

As part of this exclusive promotion for VMware vExperts, you will receive two licenses of the Backup Exec™ 2012 V-Ray Edition that may be used in production. These licenses entitle you to protect a single ESX or Hyper-V host (with two sockets) or two hosts (with one socket in each) including all the guest machines that reside within that host(s).

The Backup Exec V-Ray Edition is licensed per socket protects an unlimited number of guest machines per host.
