HPE MSL 3040 LTO-7 Drive offline and Robotic Library non-existent

Hi all,

I'm running the 60 day trial of Veritas Backup Exec 16.  I already installed the HPE drivers and the Drive and Robotic Library are visible in Computer Management/Devices in the correct places.  The MSL 3040 is connected via Fiber Channel directly from the Tape Drive in to the Server.

I already have another robotic library installed, an older LTO-5 HP Robotic Library which is showing both the Drive and Robotic Library under the Storage pane in BE 16.

This is however a Trial version I am running, so I was wondering whether there is a limitation on how many Drives and Robotic Libraries will be functional in the Trial version?

I'd be grateful for any help! I'm also currently about to purchase a license for BE 16, but wanted to see that the software actually functions properly and is at least reliable for the 2 months trial period.

I'd be grateful for any help!

Thanks in advance!

      Thanks,

I guess the research was not thorough enough and this version seems to also support my older 1/8 G2 LTO5 SAS robotic library also ...

        Okay,

Downloaded Veritas BE 20.3 and Hardware is listed as supported for LT0-7 Drives and over Fiber Channel.  HPE Tape Tools (I ran a read-write test and checked status of the actual unit which is fine) and Windows shows both the MSL3040 Library and the Tape Drive.  On running the pre-checks on the BE 20.3 installation I receive the following message:

        Warning:

One or more devices on this computer are either not connected or not working.

Should I just continue with the installation and see if the error rights itself?  This only seems to be the installer not being able to detect the MSL3040 and maybe the drive or both, not Windows itself.  I can fully operate the MSL3040 from HPE's Tape Tools utility.

        Any thoughts?
